Untitled Document

List your item.

When you list an item for auction, buyers will be able to bid on it for a certain period of time set by you. Duration of listing could be from three days to two weeks. You can sell single or multiple quantities of your item either by a single listing or simply by re-listing your item for FREE, once it is sold.

To list your item for sale, click on the SELL link at the top of any page and then :

1. Select a Category.

First select the main category of your item. Then select the appropriate sub-category. Then continue selecting the appropriate sub-categories to the last level of the "Category Tree". Click on the "Submit Category" button when you're done.

For Example: If you are selling a Nokia 6610 mobile/cell phone; you may first select "Mobile phones", then select a sub-category mentioning its brand “NOKIA”, and then select its model “6610” as the last sub-category.
If you do not find the category you are looking for click on " Suggest a New Category" Link.

Please Note: All items must be listed in appropriate categories. Souq.com may move you're listings if they are listed in categories that are not appropriate for the items you are selling.

2. Specify Item Details.

Details include:

  • Item Title: Make your title most self-explanatory and distinctive. Be short and descriptive. Try to include specifications like brand name, model number, etc. Don’t use web language (HTML).
  • Description: Type detailed description of your product in the description box.
  • Image: The image increases your product’s value. Always show a true picture of your product. To upload an image from your computer: Click on the browse button then select the picture you wish to upload and then click on the upload button to upload the selected file.

"In addition to the main uploaded picture, you can also use Souq.com’s photo gallery to upload up to five pictures. You can do this by just clicking on the link that says "Upload more photos & create a Gallery)."

  • Uploading picture from internet:
To save an image from internet, right click on the image and select "Save Picture As" option in the menu that appears. You may then follow the process given above to upload the image for your item.
  • Condition: Select weather your item is used or new.
  • Guarantee: Guarantee is mostly a replacement or money-back guarantee, in which you would be required to replace the product or refund the money to the buyer in case there is a problem with the sold item. Offering a guarantee is optional; but it is highly recommended.
  • Quantity: Enter the quantity of the items you wish to sell.
If you are listing more then one item of the same kind, the bidding price would be for the whole lot. For example: If bidding price for NOKIA 6600 (10 sets) is shown 3000 AED. This will be the price for ten sets instead of one.
  • Select the Country and city.
  • Starting Price: Enter "Your Starting Price". This is the minimum amount at which the auction starts.
  • Reserve Price: This is the minimum amount of money you are willing to accept for the item. Check the reserve price box and enter the amount. For example:A brand new Sony Ericsson mobile sells for $100. The seller decides to place the starting price of $50 on the item. On the other hand, while listing the item for sale he enters a reserve price of $ 80 for it; which is the price he would like to sell his product at. In this case, even if the highest bid received fails to exceed $60, the item will not be sold unless the price goes over $80.
  • Choose Payment: Please Click Here for details on payment method.
  • Shipping method: Please Click Here for Shipping Details.
  • Enhance your listing: Enhancing your listings adds value to the appearance of your item, thus increasing its chances of sale. Souq offers "Enhanced Listings" to every seller. This helps them increase the visibility of their item on Souq. Listing fee is charged for special listing.

There are three types of Enhanced listing options:

  • Home Page Featured: Your item and its picture appears on the home page "Everyone who visits the site sees it".
  • Category Featured: The item is listed in its respective category. "Everyone who visits your item’s category page will see the item".
  • Bold: Your item's title appears in bold.

3. Select Duration

Select a time period that you want to list your item for. You can list your item from a minimum of three days to a maximum of two weeks. In case the auction does not get successfully closed, you can always re-list your item for FREE. You can also automate the process and let the system re-list your unsold item. This can be done by entering the number of times you want the item to be re-listed.An item can be re-listed for a maximum of five times.
